HSM60 – Secure hardware wallet for protecting hundreds of cryptographic keys. The
General Info – The HSM60 is cryptographically identical to the Zymkey 5 and HSM6, and — just like the HSM6 — includes the supercapacitor and accelerometer, with optional potting available. Where the HSM60 goes further is its interposer form factor: it drops directly into existing Compute Module systems, sitting between the CM and the carrier board to add hardware security without requiring a PCB redesign.
Ideal for: Hierarchical credential management and key trees; crypto and blockchain applications running on single-board computers.
Why the Interposer Form Factor
The HSM60 installs as a drop-in layer between your Compute Module and motherboard — no board redesign required. This also gives it a unique set of protections that board-mounted modules can't offer:
- CM4-to-CM5 upgrade path — the HSM60 correctly adapts CM5 to CM4 motherboards, letting you move to newer compute modules on your existing design before you need to revise your PCB
- RPIBOOT line security — monitors and secures the RPIBOOT line, preventing tampering with boot mode on your motherboard
- Unplug detection — detects if it's removed from the motherboard, or if the Compute Module is removed from it, even without mains power, and can respond accordingly (e.g., key destruction)
- Reset line control — can hold the Compute Module in reset under specified conditions
Note: the interposer design adds approximately 4.57mm of additional height to your system — worth accounting for in enclosure design.
